The electronic and cyber-crime unit is mandated to investigate and prosecute all electronic and cyber-crimes related cases, the unit is able to disturb and prevent illegal activities, and organized and serious crimes, obtain evidences, serve as the lead prosecutor and assist law enforcement agencies in prevention, mitigation and detection of the cybercrime.
The electronic and cyber crime unit performs their duties according to the guidelines prescribed by the Attorney General.
The unit is also responsible to train the law enforcement agencies and educate and provide public awareness about electronic and cyber crimes.
The cyber crime prosecution unit is headed by highly experienced prosecutor together with other prominent prosecutors including female prosecutor, prosecution officers and paralegals who are equipped specialized knowledge relating to a subject matters area.
